Labor Day is just around the corner, and our operators are working hard to prepare for the big day. They are collecting the necessary data and making arrangements to ensure that our clients our able to enjoy the holiday with their loved ones while we take care of their calls. For many like our clients, Labor Day marks the end of the summer and is widely celebrated with lake days, pool parties, and parades.



However, Labor Day hasn’t always been about BBQs and celebrations.  We are able to observe the hard work, contributions, and achievements of the American worker because a generation of workers stood up and demanded better. In the height of the Industrial Revolution, men, women, and children worked long grueling hours in unsafe environments simply to barely survive, and enough became enough. There were marches, riots, strikes, and rallies compelling employers to stop and listen to their demands.

 In addition to the policies and laws that were set in place due to this movement, traditions were also started.  This year Labor Day falls on the 140^th anniversary of the very first Labor Day parade. On September 5, 1882, 10,000 workers marched from City Hall to Union Square in New York City and marked the rise of a longstanding tradition.  On June 28^th, 1894, 12 years after that first inspirational parade, President Grover Cleveland signed the holiday into law.  

This year, as we celebrate with our loved ones and make memories that will be shared for years to come let’s take a moment to honor those that rallied for better conditions not only for themselves, but for generations to come.
